THE HERITAGE

A beautiful piece of English history, the heart of the Estate today is Stratfield Saye House, where the 1st Duke lived from 1817. To this day, it is still the private home of the 9th Duke of Wellington. Now, 200 years later, the Estate has gently evolved with a handful of businesses and activities.

THE STORY

Living in the country has many advantages. I have lived in busy capitals and travelled extensively before I had children and moved to the countryside. Much as I love living here, I found that I missed the company of like-minded people and the friends I left behind. I missed that sense of community and infrastructure I had when I was living in London.

Becoming a mother was the most profound and the most extraordinary job I have ever done. I have built and run my own business before, but nothing compares to the demands of parenting my three children. Being a Virgo, I wanted to do the absolute best I was capable of. I forgot that endlessly giving and expanding my energy unilaterally, was going to have consequences. In the end, I got so depleted that it forced me to realise that I needed to find balance. I had to put something back, if I were to stay so committed to giving.

I created this beautiful barn for those who like me, seek equilibrium and want to rebalance, nurture and nourish themselves.

I have seen many luxury spas with conveyor belt service and industrial size manifold approaches. I have also seen and experienced cramped, restricted and limited spaces for treatments and exercise. I wanted a more bespoke, caring, intimate, gentle but stimulating centre for those who may prefer an exquisite, precious place of rejuvenation, recovery and workout. I wanted Wellington Wellbeing to be a welcoming warm hug. I do so hope it is how you will experience it.
